Taos Pueblo
Northeast of Santa Fe, New Mexico

The main part of Taos Pueblo’s current buildings were most likely constructed between 1000 and 1450 A.D. They appeared much as they do today when Spanish explorers arrived in 1540 and believed the Pueblo to be one of the fabled golden cities of Cibola.

Taos Pueblo is designated as both a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a National Historic Landmark.
